More than 28 Christmas Trees created and decorated by local community groups, youth groups, schools, businesses, artists and crafts people will form a festive trail around Buncrana this year. The Buncrana Christmas Tree Festival is back and runs from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 December featuring beautiful Christmas trees displayed in St. Mary's Oratory, Christ Church (Church of Ireland) and in The Exchange Community Centre in Castle Avenue. Follow the trail starting in the Oratory for a beautiful, inspiring and meaningful celebration of Christmas and of all that is positive about our community. Buncrana Christmas Tree Festival is organised jointly by Buncrana Churches Together and The Exchange.
Saturday 10 December
11am – 6pm Venues Open
1 – 4pm Christmas Crafts and music at The Exchange
4 – 6pm Quiet Christmas Reflective Space at The Exchange (upstairs) the opportunity to take time out for yourself without any interruptions, with poems, prayers & interactive and creative reflections acknowledging loss and finding comfort in memory.
6pm A Quiet Christmas will take place at The Exchange, Castle Avenue (upstairs) on Saturday 10 December. This will be a short guided reflection featuring poems, prayers and readings for anyone who is grieving or finding things difficult this Christmastime – a time to acknowledge the pain of loss and to remember loved ones.
Bonus event: 2 – 8pm Christmas Market at St. Mary’s Hall, Buncrana
Sunday 11 December
2pm – 6pm Venues Open
2 – 4pm Christmas Crafts and music at The Exchange
7.30pm The festival finale will be a Christmas Carol Concert in St. Mary’s Oratory featuring The Gateway Singers, The Carndonagh Brass Band, Crana College, Scoil Mhuire, the Wee Glee Singers and more.
